About Chavon
Hello my name is Chavon Thomas. I am starting a weightless journey. One day as I was working out, and God told me that I have to be desperate for change in every area of my life and not just my spiritual journey. This is where the name of this blog comes from: Desperate for Change! This will be an accountability platform for me, and others are welcome to comment and join this journey with me.
I am 30 years old. I am a teacher, author, wife, life coach, and speaker. Growing up I was very skinny, and I hated it. I prayed to gain weight. I ate anything because nothing seemed to have any real affect on me. Then, in college, my bad habits increased and everything began to change. I gained a lot of weight that I have yet to substantially get rid of.
Spiritual growth and my relationship with God is the most important aspect of my life. I have authored four books, started a business with my husband, obtained my Master's degree from Liberty University, and seen God do amazing things in my life through discipline and dedication. However, God desires me to be disciplined in every area of my life.
Like many others, I have tried diets, pills, and consistency with exercising (even paying for a personal trainer), but I have not been committed enough longer than 3 months. I have seen results before, but I have lacked consistency. However, this time my prayer is that it will be different. I am DESPERATE for CHANGE in relation to my health. This will involve the way I eat and physical activity.
Thank you for joining on this journey with me. I plan to post everyday and be honest about my progress. Thank you for being an accountability partner. There have been many times I was in fear of telling people about my efforts for weight-loss because it seemed like every time I shared, I would fall off and be embarrassed. Well, I am starting with sharing and will continue as I move along.
