Hello,
I hope that you all are having a great day. I just wanted to post because I have not posted in almost a week. I went out of town to Florida. I ate well while I was away. It was hard at times, but I was able to resist urges. Since, I have been back, I have learned more from the Noom app. They did a lesson on not categorizing food as good or bad. It's all about caloric intake. Then, they encouraged the people to eat something sweet, so I went to Cheesecake Factory to get a slice of my favorite, Red Velvet cheesecake. However, I only ate half because I did not have enough calories to eat the entire piece. It was delicious. I have not eaten cheesecake in months because I saw it as a bad food. I am still loosing weight. I hope that you all are doing well. Continue on this weight-loss journey with me!!! Love You all very much!! Thank you for your support. TTYL Chavon Thomas

Hello,
I hope you all had a great day. Outside of the challenges of the day, God is still faithful. I ate well today, but I did not eat enough. I had to eat more fruit to put more calories in my diet. I was talking to a friend from church, and she said meal prep is so important. After being on my second week of changing my lifestyle, it seems that this will be the wisest decision to ensure that I eat healthy and that I eat enough. I did not get a chance to workout today. I am going to do my crunches before I go to bed tonight. My noom app told me that I can reward myself because I have been doing so well the last week and some change. I am so excited. I am going to get a slice of cheesecake. I will have a pictures for you all tomorrow. I am excited that I am on my way to Orlando. I plan to remain healthy on my trip. I am going to continue to use my app and log my food. My exercise will be all the walking. I will be sure to do my crunches also. TTYL, Chavon Thomas Hello,
I had another great day today. I lost more weight when I got on the scale. I did not go workout today because I went to the Taco Festival with some friends from church, which required a lot of walking. We had so much fun. I ate three tacos: buffalo, grilled, and shrimp. They were all pretty good. The buffalo taco was my absolute favorite. It was so hot, but the experience hanging with the ladies made it a lot of fun. Before I go to bed, I am going to do my 100 crunches again. Today, was another good day. I continue to share with people that I am on my weight-loss journey, and I continue to get a lot of support! I found out that one of my friends is a vegetarian. That is inspiring, but it is not something that I want to fully engage in. She said that her workouts are so much better because she has more endurance being on the plant based diet. Finally, the Noom app talked about positive reinforces today. Also, it gave an analogy of the elephant vs. the rider. The elephant want what it wants and cant resist, but the rider is focused and disciplined. It encouraged me to not be impulsive in my eating choices. Thank you for your continued support. TTYL Chavon Thomas Hello,
I did not get to post last night because the Women's ministry at my church had a Game Night!! It was awesome!! I love the powerful women at my church. God is doing something beautiful in all of our hearts. We are choosing to walk in love, unity, and trust, and it means the world to me. It's nothing like feeling safe. I love those ladies!! My church family rocks!! #heyTCsis Also, I lost more weight, and I ate well. Even when I went to the game night, I knew there might be meatballs, so I planned for those in my calorie budget. Then, I ate salad and fruit. The salad bar was amazing!! I am so proud of myself for doing this. I did have to stop myself from eating potato salad and raisins because they would have taken me over my goal. Finally, the noom app challenged me to run for 20 mins without stopping while listening to 4-5 songs. It was soooooo hard. I was sweating like crazy, but I made it!! I listened to my husband's recent 4 track EP, and then I listened to "You Make me Brave." I ran a total of 1.4 miles!!! WHOA!!! I also did 100 crunches after my friend challenged me in Facebook messenger--------accountability is everything!! I will post later today too!! Be sure to comment!! Also, I put the link for my husband's EP, just click the button. TTYL Chavon Thomas Hello,
I hope you all are having a great day. I am posting before I leave for Bible Study tonight. Today has been a great day. I have not worked out yet today, but I have been walking around the house all day. My husband and I had company today. We made shirts for the business. Later, we cooked, and one of my friends helped me make Mac & Cheese. I made sure I had room for it with a light breakfast and lunch. The Mac & Cheese was pretty good. I made some baked chicken wings to go with it. I am going to workout when I get back from church tonight. I am going to do my HIT program on the treadmill. Also, I said in the post early this morning that I would do my 100 crunches, and I did them. I did them in increments of 25. It was not easy, but I made it through. It was truly awesome!! I will update you in the morning to confirm that I actually ran on the treadmill after Bible Study tonight!! TTYL, Chavon Thomas Hello,
I did not get to post yesterday. I went the movies with the youth department, and I came back home and went to the gym. Yesterday was a good day. I went walking around the park and read my book Good Morning Holy Spirit. I am almost done with it. I have two more chapters. It is a great book. I recommend it for a read if you have not read it. I ate well yesterday. I went to the movies to see the new Spiderman movie, which was great!! You have to go see that if you have not seen it yet. When I was there, I ate salad. However, I used ranch dressing, so it was not the best choice, but at least I ate some veggies. When my husband and I got back home, he wanted to go to the gym because he did not get a chance to workout earlier. I could have staid home because I already went walking early that day, but since I knew I ate the ranch, I decided to go walking on the treadmill while he ran. He wanted me to do crunches with him too, but I was too tired for that. However, I am going to do it today. One of our friends from church does 200 per day, so I think I will start with 100 and work my way up. I think it is best that I start adding an ab workout because I need muscles in my stomach as I keep losing weight!! I will post tonight on what has taken place today!! Be sure to leave a comment TTYL Chavon Thomas Hello,
I hope that you all had a great day today. Today, was another great day on my weight-loss journey. I weighed myself first thing this morning, and I lost more weight! YAY! When I made breakfast, I added veggies to my eggs. It was delicious. My husband wanted cheese on his eggs this morning, so I made his separately, which made me have to do an extra step. However, I was determined to avoid the extra calories in cheese. Later, for lunch, I ate leftovers from last night's dinner. It was still good! My snacks were fruit today, and for my late night snack I had 1/4 cup of cereal and milk. My husband laughed at me, but I was proud of myself. Now, what I am most proud of and happy about is what I ate for dinner tonight. I have an amazing church family. We had a youth meeting at 7pm, and the Youth Pastor said he would take care of dinner in a text message. I knew this was a social trigger, so I asked would it be possible to have a healthy option. The others in the group sent GIFs of delicious unhealthy foods, and we all laughed. However, at the meeting, the Youth Pastor had Jimmy Johns. I was like this is so awesome. I thanked him for his support of my weight-loss journey. I ate a turkey and tuna sub, but they were cut very small. Therefore, altogether I ate a 6 inch sub. They were delicious! I did grab a bag of chips too, but instead of just eating them, I checked my noom app to see if I would go over my calorie count for my red foods (the section you don't want to eat too much of), and it showed me that I would exceed my limit so back the chips went on the table! I am thankful for my church family, and my Youth Pastor for having my back tonight. The Noom app encouraged me to not be afraid to share with others what I am doing because people would support me, and I am thankful that I listened. I did not have to cook dinner tonight or eat something that was unhealthy. Finally, I went running today at the park again. It was great! I pushed myself harder. I made sure that I kept my stride instead of slacking when I grew tired. While my husband played basketball, I ran. It was challenging because I wanted to stop. I do the HIT program where I run for 30 seconds and rest for 15. When I finally stopped after 2 laps around the park, I had did the HIT program for a total of 44 mins. I was super proud of myself! Today was a great day!! Be sure to comment!! TTYL, Chavon Thomas Hello, I hope your Monday has been great so far!! I went to the park this morning and went for a walk. It was really nice. It was a new location for me, and I think I will go again. It was peaceful. My title today is Standing Strong because today I made some tough choices in relation to eating. I made healthy choices. I am proud of myself. It has almost been 1 week. Also, great news when I weighed in today, I lost some weight!!! That was very exciting because I started to get discouraged because I had not seen a change yet. I even thought my scale was broke one day, lol. I picked it up and shook it and everything. This is not an easy process, but it is one that I am actually enjoying right now. I have not given up, and I am so happy that I have you all in this journey with me. I feel good everyday I can write a blog with good news!! My noom app today talked about how I can gain more calories in my diet if I exercise more. This was good news. However, I still have to eat the right things. There have been times in the past where I thought I could eat what I wanted because I worked out, but I have learned that is not true at all. When I workout, it is better to put good calories back in. I want my body to continue to work off the good food rather than food that is harder to process in my digestive track. Thank you for tuning in. Be sure to comment. I have a video that I did on my walk for you also. Check it out. TTYL Chavon Thomas Hello,
I hope you all are having a great Sunday. Before church this morning, I ran on the treadmill and got on the elliptical. I was so proud of myself for doing an early morning workout. Also, I ate well today. I had my veggies, fruit, and protein. My calorie count was good also. I wanted to eat pizza my husband ordered, but I didn't. Then, I went to my friend's house and she had cake, but I did not eat that either. YAY for me!!! Then in my Noom app, I learned that there are positive and negative social triggers for eating healthy. However, where there are negative social triggers, you can turn them into positive ones. You can suggest something different or choose to do something different. I am thankful, and I celebrate today's success!!! It is not easy to eat healthy and exercise, but it is possible. I am excited about a life-style change!! TTYL Chavon Thomas Hello,
I hope your Saturday has been wonderful. I have figured out that Tropical Smoothie is not healthy. Uggh. I feel like I have been tricked. I learned this today through my app. There is no such thing as healthy fast food!!! I really thought tropical smoothie was different!!! NOPE!! LOL Anyways today my husband said we were going to take a trip to the beach with some of the youth from my church, so I did not go to the gym this morning. Instead, I walked the beach, which is serious exercise in my book. We walked for over two hours on the beach. We had a lot of fun. I did not eat ice cream, which is a big deal because there are so many ice cream shops on the beach. I was proud that I made breakfast this morning because I have a bad habit of not eating breakfast in the morning. Trying to change that habit. My plan is to go to the gym tomorrow morning for church. My noom app allowed me to learn some new things about my eating habits. I tend to be a storm eater, which means that I eat something not healthy and keep going instead of just a little. Then, I also learned about thought distortion: 1. all or nothing- I eat something bad, so I will never get it right 2. mind reading- People will think I'm strange for eating healthy (salad) at dinner 3. unhelpful rules- I have to finish everything on my plate 4. justification- I can eat unhealthy now because I did good earlier 5. delusional- Eating a small desert does not count when it does 6. exaggerated- I had a donut for breakfast so the entire day is ruined TTYL Chavon Thomas |
